discipline policy:
In the classroom, there is a chart with several levels. Every student starts the day in the middle on Ready To Learn level and then moves his or her name up to Good Choices and up again to Great Example or Outstanding. If there is a behavior that is unacceptable, the student may need to move his or her name down to Think About It, Teacher Consequences or Parent Contact.
I strongly encourage good behavior in the classroom, at enrichments, walking in the halls, at lunch, and on the playground. Students love receiving stickers, praises, small pieces of candy, animal crackers, and we may have popsicle deliveries at times.
Every school day, each student is given the opportunity to earn 1 gold coin to put in their stash. On most Fridays, we can cash in our coins for a trip to the treasure chest. The treasure chest includes small candy, pencils, small toys, etc. Any donations to the treasure chest are greatly appreciated by the students.
